From 22 to 25 June 2023, JazzBaltica will once again take place in Timmendorfer Strand. In a total of 39 concerts on the grounds around Strandpark, international stars as well as young talents will present the most exciting facets of jazz. This year’s festival will focus on strong female bandleaders and their formations alongside brass instruments.

Although some of the concerts on the MainStage – featuring Vince Mendoza, Martin Wind, Lisa Wulff, Günter Baby Sommer and Karin Hammar, among others – are already sold out, JazzBaltica fans can still attend many more concerts. On Thursday evening, for example, the Finnish pianist Aki Rissanen and his trio will perform the upptakt at the JazzClub.

Tickets are also available for the Eva Klesse Quartet and Nesrine Belmokh on Sunday at noon. While the quartet develops a sensitive and refined sound language based on the multi-faceted and flexible playing of its bandleader, the French-Algerian singer presents her captivating mixture of jazz, chanson, soul, world and pop music, enriched with virtuoso cello playing.
On Sunday at 6 p.m., the French singer Camille Bertault and the Austrian pianist David Helbock will follow. On their joint album »Playground«, they masterfully play with an extensive variety of styles and a daring kaleidoscope of emotions in seven of their own compositions and five cover versions of famous pieces. After them, the NDR Bigband, led by Nikki Iles, who is celebrated worldwide as a pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader, will enter the MainStage.
A new format is NightLab – night concerts in the JazzCafé. Here, the Joanna Duda Trio and Ilaria Capalbo provide the soundtrack to the Blue Hour on late Friday and Saturday evenings.
